Ali Samadpour
Samadpour, after a ten-year collaboration with Hossein Alizadeh, entered the world of film music composition, composing the score for three short films, among them “The Other Side of Burka”, directed by Mehrdad Oskouei. He was then introduced to Ali Refaei for collaboration on the feature film The Fish Fall in Love (“Māhihā ʿĀsheq Mishavand”).
The documentary series “Taste of Iran” (“Ta’m Irani”), directed by Bahman Kiarostami and Mehrdad Oskouei, and broadcast by BBC Persian in spring 2009, featured his music as its soundtrack. After The Fish Fall in Love, Samadpour participated in the 2005 festival with music for two films by Fereydoun Jeyrani: Setāreh-hā 1 and Setāreh-hā 3. He serves as the head of the music-publishing division of the “Khaneh-ye Honar Kherad” (Kherad Art House) institute. In 2015 at the Third “Music-e-Ma” festival, he was awarded the prize for Best Music Publisher, and in 2020, he received a Diploma of Honor as Best Publisher. He is also a member of the Iranian Composers Association for Film.
